An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, electrically qualified, but with a good multi-discipline background with the ability to take on a variety of tasks & supervision of sub-contractors

You will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of a large combined office and laboratory facility, including but not limited to the following:

  • Maintenance, repairs and minor installation work associated with the building electrical and water / waste services
  • Maintenance and repairs associated with the building plant items, to include water / effluent pumps, air compressors, air / water cooling systems, vacuum systems and various laboratory equipment
  • Portable Appliance Testing, logging and recording
  • Legionella compliance inspections / testing / recording 
  • Management of part-time resource to assist with some tasks
  • Management of subcontractors to undertake specialist equipment servicing / repairs
  • Obtaining quotations and ordering materials from local Wholesalers

We are keen to employ persons who can work with minimal supervision, take ownership of any site issues that they may find and are proactive with respect to health, safety and environmental problem solving at site level.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working as a building / facilities maintenance engineer, a distinct advantage
  • Fully Qualified 18th Edition with 2391 testing & inspection (Preferred)
  • IOSH (Advantage)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (Advantage)
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
  • Excellent ESH focus and delivery
  • Self-motivation
  • Be able to organise yourself and others workload
  • Be able to work in a strong team environment
  • Be proactive in your approach
  • An excellent communicator
  • A high level of diplomacy and customer focused
